My daily morning ritual begins around 5:30 am.
I had to train myself to do this. It wasn’t easy at first.
I started this last year when I realized my habits were so bad that I needed to turn my life around.
- I awaken with gratitude with 20 minutes of writing everything that I am thankful for every morning.
- Follow with a mindful meditation with the intention to have empathy and compassion for myself and others throughout the day.
- Learn about 30 minutes of inspiration by reading books, listening to podcasts and empowering myself with something new to know.
- Go outside for 60 minutes of movement by going to the gym, on a hike, run or bike ride. If I am traveling, I adopt to wherever I am.
- And I then nourish and fuel with a healthy breakfast, coffee and detox tea.
love this! Yes, I do the same first and second step but move through my day at that point. It has changed my life been on this path for more than a year. I also do a nightly meditation (which is pretty tough) you should read my post on it at

Thanks for this post it gives me something to work toward.

Wow – 20 minutes at night – that is not easy. I give you a lot of credit and you have inspired me to try it because I am all wound up by the end of the day and it could be so beneficial. Thank you.

Very inspiring, however, I can’t help wondering: “do you ever sleep? or you must go to bed very early?” I’m not a morning person and to get up at 5:30am and do all that before anything, it would mean I’d have the life of my dreams! Well done, Madeline.

You are so fun! Yes, I do sleep. I try to get to bed by 11 pm. That’s about six hours. Sometimes seven. How about you? Do you have any daily rituals?
